About The Workshop

Clown + The Tragic | 2-Day Workshop | Ages Adult | Friday Mar 27th, 7-9pm and Saturday Mar 28th, 3-5pm

In our March workshop, ““Clown + The Tragic”, you will learn how tragic clowning emphasizes vulnerability, sorrow, and relies on "pathos" (suffering) to connect with the audience's own experiences of failure and loneliness. The tragic clown overcomes through unwavering fortitude and determination, revealing the hilariously flawed but authentic human experience. The tragic clown serves as a mirror for human fragility, demonstrating that laughter and tears are often intertwined.

Through a series of playful exercises, games and improvisations you will be encouraged to take risks and find the tragic clown in your performance.

Come ready to play, laugh, and explore what it means to be unapologetically human! 

This workshop culminates by you applying your gained knowledge to create and present a short clown routine in class on Saturday.
